Nigeria’s Taekwondo World Championship bronze medalist, Elizabeth Anyanacho, is scheduled to arrive in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to compete in the -67kg category at the ongoing Islamic Games.
Speaking to the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) media team, the federation’s Technical Director, Coach John Victor, expressed strong confidence in Anyanacho’s readiness and ability to deliver an outstanding performance.
“Elizabeth has been training diligently at her base, and her impressive performance at the World Championship in Wuxi, China — where she became the first Nigerian female to win a World Taekwondo Championship medal — is proof of her determination and quality.” Coach Victor said.
The coach further emphasized that with her current form and consistent performances at various international championships this year, Anyanacho is poised not only for a podium finish but also to go all the way for gold.
Nigeria is participating in six sports at this year’s Islamic Games with Taekwondo being a strong suit for a place on the podium.
